| One of many pieces of snake skin I found while gardening..... |
I took out a thick clump of tall daisies to put in some pumpkin plants. Well, the web of stems and roots made a great spot for some skin shedding. I admit that I'm quite afraid of snakes, so I was a little jumpy after finding several pieces that probably added up to a snake that was a meter or more in length. But, I'm glad for some natural field mice control. (And I was happy to learn from a neighbor later in the day that there are not poisonous snakes in this region ... as opposed to my home state of Texas where all 4 North American venomous types are found). And, lucky for my nerves, the "donor" did not make a reappearance.
